This iconic 2-LP collection, first issued in 1979, features 16 of Summer’s sweetest hits of the Seventies; all tracks, as they appeared on the original 2-LP release, are DJ-mixed – they segue together – for maximum entertainment. Donna Summer was born in Boston on New Year’s Eve of 1948. She built on the bedrock of her gospel roots by marrying the best elements of Rock, R&B, and Disco into a signature vocal style that remains influential to this day. Not only is this an essential Donna Summer album, but UMe did a splendid job on the vinyl re-issue. The only thing really missing, are the generic Casablanca Record & FilmWorks LP sleeves. The original wasn't a gatefold so the Gatefold now has the poster that originally came with the album. Would be cool if they would release the Donna Summer special that aired Jan 1980. I really hope the reissue the 1978 Live And More record album as well.
