Patton himself preferred the spelling 'Charlie', I'm sure this was intentional
Shadowbourne
Was this remastered recently or is this just a vinyl version of the old Document cd? Someone needs to completely overhaul all the Charley Patton 78s and give them fresh remastering. I would have liked an American Epic team remastered full Patton compilation, or better yet remaster his complete works because in some cases they need it.
Trash
I may be mistaken but I think Third Man were able to restore some old 78's for this collection. Hard task to ask, most the old 78's were shellack, and haven't held up to this day

Charley Patton is the KING of the delta blues! That's all I got to testify!
Alsantrius
Testify! Charlie is the Father and the King, Robert's good too but man Charlie. Now I just need the other 3 records
Arcanescar
Why did they do this dumb shit cover art. A perfectly good release ruined by garbage hispter shit cover art!
Kerry
It's kinda cool, each of the 4 albums is different. It also shows that it's not the original pressings, we're lucky Jack was able to put the collection out
Gtonydne
hey does anyone know if there repressing them since the track order and the spelling of charley are wrong on the first pressing?
Meri
Great release. According to the Third Man Records site early copies have an incorrect running order listed. Heres a link to the correct one. http://thirdmanstore.com/featured/charley-patton-the-complete-recorded-works-in-chronological-order-volume-1
