The Silence Death Project, most known for their iconic political poster, was the work of a six-person collective in New York City: Avram Finkelstein, Brian Howard, Oliver Johnston, Charles Kreloff, Chris Lione, and Jorge Soccarás. Finkelstein started the group with Jorge Socarras in 1985 at the height of the AIDS crisis as a g group, with the content of their discussions quickly turning political.

March 30, 2017 – New Jersey hardcore quintet SILENCE EQUALS DEATH is preparing to release their debut full-length album, End Times, through Eulogy Recordings next week, the band issuing a new single in advance of the record. The newly-unveiled track Common Ground is now playing at New Noise Magazine. With ten new energetic and infectious tracks, End Times was recorded by SILENCE EQUALS DEATH at Scorpion Studios in late 2016, mixed by the band and Kevin Carafa, and mastered by Carafa with additional mastering by Michael White, with artwork by Carlo at Kill Carlo Boy Designs
