It sounds pretty diffuse and muddy, but the quality of the tracks does kind of shine through. Not quite sure if you'd really want this, though. I for sure would think twice before playing this in the club.

And just recognized that Mister Saturday Night also put it on a vinyl compilation. But I have never heard the quality..
Modifyn
Totally agree here. The sound of the vinyl reissue is pretty poor... there has also been a digi version on Mister Saturday Night and the file sounds much better to me. Just for those who take this in consideration.
Ericaz
Im so disappointed , the sound quality is horrible. The original must sound much better then the re-press.
Anarawield
I agree. I've given this record a good rating but the pressing quality is not all that. I have to turn up the mids and highs on the mixes to have a proper sound and even then it is not fantastic. Wonder how the original 12" sounded like...
the monster
anyone else find that the high's don't hold and crackle? i've cleaned it so many times.

This is just straight up funky fresh fire! Such a great release. I'm glad it's on the repress :)

From a poster on Youtube, bass player was a 15 year old girl apparently!!:This is my brother and sisters, jackie, allen, and chimene walker from east orange NJ, I am so proud to hear them on youtube, just t let the listeners know, that bass line is played by a female named Donna Mcpherson from east orange nj, she was about 15 0r 16 yr old when this song came out in the 80's. we called her Thunder Thumbs!!!! she's a bad chick!!!! go Bourbon & Maxx!!! Just to add my own research, Donna went on to play with Bernie Worrell from Funkadelic in his band in the late 90s/early 00s
