Exellent
Unfortunately I have to agree with the comments below regarding the quality of this release, its a massive disappointment, lifeless and flat.
Faehn
Awful pressing. The record itself comes in this awful thin cardboard sleeve with no insert. I've seen shitty dance singles in better sleeves than this. The art looks blurry and low quality. The labels are the only redeeming factor of the packaging of this album. As if the presentation wasn't bad enough, this pressing actually made me think something was wrong with my turntable. It's ridiculously quiet. When i have my system turned up all the way. it sounds like a normal record at 75% volume. For as great and legendary as Frizzle Fry is, being (arguably) Primus' greatest album, it sure has been dragged through the mud many times throughout it's history, and this release exemplifies that.

Besides the 2015 pressing having 18619"M" in the matrix, I don't think there's any other way to tell this apart from the 2002 pressing. In fact, I think both might be the same source. My 2015 copy came with a 2002 barcode sticker over the 2015 barcode number. Doesn't sound good either.
Bludworm
This pressing sound very bad! flat and poor. Skip this one...
Querlaca
Sounds ok. Nothing special. I don't believe the original mix on this album is too good to begin with.
Vertokini
Sorry for late response. No, the volume level is normal, not too quiet or too loud. IT doesn't sound BAD per se but I'm fairly sure it's the recordings fault.
Brick my own
Is it as quiet (not the good kind) as the 2002 remaster? I literally have to turn the volume knob up an extra 50% just to get the same volume as a normal record, and the mix itself is incredibly flat sounding.
Brakree
Hmm strange. My OG pressing of Sailing the Seas of Cheese sounds noticeably better. This sounds, not worse or much better than the CD. It was probably recorded digitally too. And as the band probably had a limited budget during this time that might have contributed to the factor as well.
Elildelm
Kind of surprised to see this comment my OG US pressing sounds great, same mastering according to the release info.
heart of sky
sounds good just like the cd the mosquito band center label is cool
Malhala
This the worst vinyl pressing I've ever owned, I thought my turntable was broken
Spilberg
Yep, they aren't lying when they say this pressing is a huge disappointment. Super flimsy cardboard sleeve (like super thin and feels as if it was soggy before it was printed on), the album art is LOW quality, the vinyl is super thin and causes a lot of noise, which is made even worse by how flat and quiet this pressing is. Never thought I'd hear a vinyl sound worse than a 128kbs mp3. Les would murder someone if he heard how muted the bass (and everything else) is for this.
Tantil
Very very bad. Sleeve is extremely flimsy, record was dished to the point where side two was unplayable. On top of all of that, sound quality is suspect and you have to literally crank it to 75% volume. Avoid.
Mushicage
It would be an absolute understatement to say that Primus is an acquired taste. Their music is incredibly obscure, with some of the most random musical passages and the most quirky lyrics you could think of. And so it is, that their debut album is a convoluted mess of ideas thrown together with no real sense of direction, other than being random for random's sake. While the musical ability between all the members is of a high calibre, especially bassist, singer and all-round main man Les Claypool (story goes that he was once turned down to join Metallica for being "too good"), the general compositions seem rather unfocused and boring. Nothing really stands out in this 52-minute smorgasbord of random guitar riffs and vocal melodies, which usually are delivered via something more akin to talking or just completely random noises. If I really had to pick out any notable highlights, 'John the Fisherman', 'Too Many Puppies' and 'To Defy the Laws of Tradition' could be considered alright, but honestly, this album as a whole just gets rather boring and repetitive fast. I'm sure there are people that love songs that randomly go into renditions of 'Humpty Dumpty', but to me, it's just not cool, it's not funny, and it's not really all that clever either.
Dominator
Does anyone know rough pressing info on the early color vinyl versions?
Nikok
''Too many PUPPIES..!", such a great song (and album), one of the dirtiest bass hooks ever too.
Jeb
Gotta agree with past comments on this one, this pressing is way too quiet. Such a great album, but this pressing is sub-par
Arihelm
The flattest, quietest, and most lifeless album in my collection. It has no punch even when you turn the volume way up. Complete waste of money... might as well be listening to a 64kb MP3.
huckman
Does this version (yellow transluscnet) always come with an inner sleeve? Does anyone know?
Nafyn
I don't know about anyone else, but my copy's cover is rather low resolution, the Frizzle Fry text bleeds into the background a bit. Also when I opened it up I noticed the grooves in my copy are very shallow, I doubted it would play but a quick test proved otherwise. Not sure overall on this one.
Vaua
For me it's the same, it's the worst LP i've ever purchased.I cry at night looking at him.
Felhalar
Hi you out there,My copy (2002 Frizzle Fry Inc.) of the vinyl actually sounds dull and flat, after receiving it I thought it was some sort of cd-rip-pirate record. Kinda strange for a so-called remastered album, no?Anyway the remastered vinyl of 'Sailing the seas of cheese' also really defers from the '91 original BUT sounds real great proving it can be done properly.
Alianyau
Mine had a skipping in john fisherman. The hole in record was not molded properly
Wen
Just bought one today. Also a skip in John The Fisherman.
Lonesome Orange Kid
My record has a slight imperfection on Frizzle Fry that leads into John The Fisherman (A black dot with a black streak). Towards the end of John, the record skips and plays a section in an infinite loop. If I move the needle to the end of side A, there isnt a groove in the center of the record to tell my arm to return to the start. A bad pressing, disappointing to say the least.
Morad
No skip in my copy on John the Fisherman.
Ceck
How does this sound? I heard the previous reissue was "lifeless".
Vareyma
Agree with the other two guys. This is one of my Favorite Primus albums. I have an original 1990 black vinyl, an original 1990 blue colored vinyl and the 1990 CD. Seek out an original, they're well worth it if you really like this album. I know they're not cheap but believe me, they do this album justice. Heck, buy the original CD if you don't want to fork out the money. It sounds better than this pink issue vinyl.
Nto
It's flat. I would not call it lifeless. It is somewhat quieter than other LPs.
Black_Hawk_Down
That would also describe this press, it's "lifeless" or lacks depth....
AnnyMars
Plain white inner sleeve
Deeroman
The all thing is disapointing the sleeve is just plain white paper.
Lanionge
paper or polylined? more words more words more words more
Shalinrad
included no lyrics or inserts whatsoever with my copy, but I can live with that, as the album itself is still stellar. As said before, it's quiet. Compared to my remastered "sailing the seas of cheese" LP, it packs less punch. However, I still enjoy spinning it.
Gldasiy
This is a very quiet and lifeless release.
Kadar
Couldn't agree more....pretty much have to crank up my system to get any kind of enjoyment out of this release.
Sardleem
Completely agree. The sound on this press is actually awful. If you want to listen to the album, steer clear of this version.
