How can we hang on to a dream How can it ever be the way it seems. What can I do, she's saying we're through With how it was What will I try, I still don't see why She says what she does. How can we hang on to a dream How can it ever be the way it seems. What can I say, she's walking away From what we've seen What can I do, still loving you It's all a dream. How can we hang on to a dream How can it ever be the way it seems How can we hang on to a dream
One of the bands Lorber picked up was Ultimate Spinach (others were Beacon Street Union and Orpheus). The band's 'Bosstown Sound', as on their 1968 debut album, was the typical psychedelic sound we could hear on the (1967) releases of The Doors, Jefferson Airplane and Country Joe and the Fish. Doing an instrumental cover of Tim Hardin's 'Hang on To A Dream' is seemingly a terrible idea, but it's surprisingly the stand out of this set for me. A beautiful arrangement of one of the all time greats. Lucky for him, he did not have to go far since BSU was performing at Steve Paul's The Scene in New York City.

We put up some handbills outside CBGB and on random lampposts in the East Village. We signed with Rough Trade Records. The debut album from Captured Tracks stalwarts DIIV didn’t intentionally set out to channel dream pop. Yes, they were fans of Ride, but frontman Zachary Cole Smith cited this particular album’s inspirations as krautrock and Malian music. these tools are precisely what set them apart on their third album, Clinging to a Scheme. With their mix of sunny guitar jangle and melancholic sentiment, the Swedish trio could easily be slotted as indie pop.
