Benannt hat sich 1984 . als direkte Referenz zu George Orwells gleichnamigen Roman, und das darin beschworene Big nario inklusive Furcht, Ängste und Frustrationen dominieren auch die Texte der Band. Diese Stimmung ist unterschwellig in allen Songs vorhanden, sorgt für ein hes Feeling. In co-production with COMBAT ROCK we release the debut full length by 1984 aka NINETEENEIGHTYFOUR from Metz. The band (est. 2007) has previously two 7?under their belt: s/t in 2012 and Revenge in 2015. Main influence in 1984 is 80s UK Oi!/Streetpunk, melted with a local french note.

NineteenEightyFour, KNife’s SFdigi debut, effectively demonstrates his style in focused bursts, fused to form a gritty boom-bap soundscape littered with dense wordplay. Remaining true to his collaborative roots, KNife invites a gang of indie emcees to contribute to his self-produced album; rappers with whom he built a mutual respect over years of extensive touring, including Sage Francis and Ceschi.
