Recording for Code Orange Kids' second studio album began in February 2014 with Kurt Ballou. Speaking on the sound of the new album, Morgan said it would mark "a very new era for our band," and that, "It's different. A lot of the heavier parts are heavier and sometimes more obvious. In August 2017, "Bleeding in the Blur" was announced as one of the official theme songs for NXT's NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III event. At the event, held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Code Orange were the first band to ever play live at an NXT show. They opened the event with a performance of "Bleeding in the Blur," before later performing a live version of Aleister Black's entrance music, "Root of All Evil," with Incendiary vocalist Brendan Garrone; who appears on the original version of the song
We still have another week until their third album Forever is released, but Code Orange has given us another peek at what their next album is going to sound like with the release of Bleeding in the Blur. The Pittsburgh-based group is already set for a busy 2017 as the band will be heading off on a US tour immediately after releasing Forever . Check out Bleeding in the Blur below. Bleeding In The Blur" is different than any other song you've released as Code Orange. Were you consciously aware of this during the writing, and did it affect the process? Thank you. "Bleeding In The Blur" was the second song we wrote on the record. We’ve always attempted to make certain songs on our record have a mix of melody, dissonance and fire, but "Bleeding In The Blur" has our best balance of those elements thus far in my opinion. In the closing seconds of the video for "Forever," we see a dead body with I Am King carved on its forehead, a reference to your last album and its cover. What did that symbolize? Did the ideology of Code Orange change significantly between I Am King and Forever? It symbolizes the next step.
