i would be careful with some of these CD Compilations especially this one "do it yourself" exactly what it says....and might be better to "do it yourself".....vinyl and MP3 rips to CD this should be stopped its becoming the norm now.........
i still have some 1994/1995 CD's with tracks that have the 16k self like frequency of MP3 (but not as sharp of cut off) that i still cannot understand even though MP3 came to light around 1994 who would be converting stuff on the fly to MP3 for CD's at this time unless they are lower quality masters ,filtering etc....minidisc masters ;)today the CD's are rife for bad rips and wouldn't trust 90% of them im glad i still keep on buying the older stuff though ;)
Well said "MP3 rips on original CDs" this is just vile! I have witnessed this on one of these 90's CD's shame because it put me off buying, when i was wanting these specifically as a way of getting the full length versions' with the belief they were from the masters (well high quality). After that i wasn't too happy and started checking every copy i bought ....once bitten as they say.....maybe some have the "one off" and 90% are master quality but the compiler has obviously done it at some point maybe not on them all though.... but on the most common tracks! that can be found on a CD Maxi in abundance on Discogs for pennies!! crazy!they could have asked me to ripp it that to PCM/WAV for their CD ;) not like i have never had leachers pretending to be the "Producers" wanting the WAV version of songs from a few of my rarer compilations quoting they have lost the masters and need it to make an official CD compilation CD......or they have a disabled son that wants a CD from my collection but can't get out to locate a copy......jeez...whatever next.
Vinyl rips are ok as long as the Vinyl rip isn't a shitty, crackly, barbecue sizzle rip. You can't expect the labels to always have the original masters available. Though I agree that MP3 rips on original CDs are cancer for serious collectors.
