The Ozark Mountain Daredevils. From left: Buddy Brayfield, John Dillon, Larry Lee, Mike 'Supe' Granda, Randle Chowning, Steve Cash. Many of the songs on this demo appeared thirteen years later as the record The Lost Cabin Sessions. The band later sent a tape to the team who managed fellow Missourians Brewer & Shipley, Kansas City's Paul Peterson and Stan Plesser (who also owned the Vanguard, a popular coffee house, and ran their own Good Karma Productions). The pair gave the band a chance and became their managers as well in October 1972. This was taken from shows performed at Wildwood Springs Lodge in Steelville, Missouri in November 2010.

This CD is dedicated to Steve Canaday who also co-produced many of these original sessions with the band. The Ozark Mountain Daredevils spent most of their existence identified as a country-pop band, but when they first got together, they were a country outfit with some specific roots rock influences, closer in spirit to the Byrds of Sweetheart of the Rodeo than to the Eagles or Poco, and more of the real article - as all of the bandmembers were. still living in Springfield, MO - than even the Byrds were by 1968.
