Lyrics to "I'll Be Your Girl" song by The Decemberists: When the summer days live to bore you And the river lies long before you And the one that you love . .And when the tempests rage And all the oceans roar At your door I could be your man But I'd be that much more And more. So when everything soft upbraids you When fortune has long betrayed you And you're longing for an arm to stay you I'll be your girl. So if you're ever feeling less your time due Like someone bereft and lied to And you never need a guy to guide you I'll be your girl I'll be your girl I'll be your girl.

My only gripe is that once again the lyric inner was slightly creased by some fat fingered person at the factory inserting it into the sleeve. This seems to be "normal" for new records these days. I don't know why people cannot be more careful. LP itself is wonderfully pressed-a rare thing for modern vinyl. Reply Notify me Helpful.

For I’ll Be Your Girl, the shake-up was multi-faceted: The band hired John Congleton, best known for his work with St. Vincent, to produce. They poured all their folk power into Offa Rex, a collaborative project with singer-songwriter Olivia Chaney, clearing their palette for something new. Meloy wrote noticeably shorter songs. The results are mostly successful; occasionally a strange sound seems shoehorned into a perfectly good Decemberists song. Opening track Once In My Life starts.
