Sticker on the jewel case: Anthrax Stomp 442 Includes the tracks "Fueled", "Nothing", "Random Act Of Senseless Violence" 7559-61856-2. Recorded and mixed at Studio 4, Conshohocken, PA Mastered at Gateway Mastering. by Zomba Enterprises In. ASCAP. What can you say about Anthrax that hasn't been said already? Quite a lot actually, which is a good thing owin to the way they keep progressing. Stomp 442 is nothing like the instantly head bang inducing speed and thrash metal from the eighties. Instead, it's modern sounding and somewhat technical and guess what: it still rocks. Die hard tight black jeans and leather jacket wearing (as well as mullet sporting) fans may find this difficult to swallow - but if you were a die hard fan you wouldn't be reading this cos youw ould haev snapped it up the day it came out.
Anthrax released their debut album Fistful of Metal in January 1984. However, tensions were building between Lilker and the rest of the band for various reasons, eventually leading to the band firing Lilker. He would soon form the band Nuclear Assault with former Anthrax roadie John Connelly. Lilker was replaced by Benante's nephew and roadie Frank Bello. As on Stomp 442, Benante performed lead guitar parts along with Crook and Darrell. The album also features Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo making a guest vocal appearance. After the album's release the label went bankrupt, disrupting its distribution. Anthrax then signed with Beyond Records, who released the greatest-hits album Return of the Killer A's (1999), after which Beyond went out of business as well
