Can somebody tell me if this is original or RI USA? On Label: 18397 (above), LPS-841 (under) Matrix: 3972 - LPS - 841 - 1(A) And (B) on the other side. And under this (nearer to the vinyl): S - 48776 After this something difficult to read, maybe ending with something like 345 (I'm not sure about this, but does it matter) Thanx, Andreas
Anyone have the matrix runout numbers for this original release? Trying to compare it to mine.
my label looks different form this release. it actually matches the promo label to a T except for the "DJ Copy". But everything else matches. Matrix runouts are exactly the same as the promo matrix runout numbers.
Does your copy match this one? And if so, how is the sound quality on your pressing? All the other repress reviews sound real bad.
I have the same on my copy. Must be another variant.
This needs a quality reissue! What an amazing album that's not even streamable.
This for me is currently the best album I have ever heard. I think that Ms Ashby was far far ahead of her time with this one and it is a great inspiration to me at the present time. Every track moves into a new phase of what I believe to be a very beautifully and skillfully crafted piece of work. But, does anybody know who the rhythm section are?? I'd love to know, they're solid throughout and not mentioned in the liner notes, a tragedy! If you know please shout out
I would say the same as any Soulful Strings record from that era, Soulful Strings were pretty much the house group for all the Cadet Richard Evans productions as far as I have observed.
'The Moving Finger' is the track that beat heads hunted down for many years, heavy percussion, heavy drums, heavy strings and a spooky poem. Note the number of references to alcohol in the track titles, rumour has it that it was her love of the grape and maybe even grass that lead to her early death.
