Red planet. Some of the greatest techno made. Mad mike still the number 1. This first release is one of my favourites along with RP 3 and 4. But all of them have something to offer. Not dated at all. I’m sitting here having one of those days playing my old Detroit stuff and currently blasting out this RP 1, pure bliss

This planet is constantly running out of ideas (?) on how to save itself and everything on board because humans won't listen! Who is The Intruder?

Another work of art by Mad Mike - nothing compares or will prepare you for The Intruder. Spellbinding.

I thought this classic first Red Planet release came out in 1991? Anyone agree / disagree? A new Red Planet release would come out just once a year and I thought they started with this one in '91? You then had 'Star Dancer' in '92 , 'Sex In Zero Gravity' in '93...and so on.

A slice of atomic self realisation, from another time, and from beyond the stars. The best things on planet earth are the ones many people forget, loose or lack the self confidence to support in favour of the comfort of being current or pleasing the masses. When a star winks, its a long time before the Earth notices. Time cannot be defined by this record. (Beware- 2012 pressings lurking in the OG edition pages...)

Wow well put there! A slice of atomic self realisation, from another time, and from beyond the stars. A few years back a young man of school age was speaking on a previous upload of his desperate need to present to his class a presentation of Eldridge Cleaver and was hoping to download "Lost Transmission From Earth" off the Internet. I calmly and politely explained to the horribly mistaken innocent soul that "You don't download Underground Resistance son, you absorb it". The internet proceeded to explode in the ensuing eruption of reason and humility. Now that this 12" stands proudly as a towering achievement in the hypnotic history of Detroit is no chance. It was like being hit with a tactical nuclear warhead aimed directly and squarely at the hips.Meet The Red Planet….um, you know what, fuck you Mad Mike, fuck you right in your asshole pal. I hope you get chronic haemorrhoids from dancing to this too much too, you beautiful bastard. Grabs you by the funk and never lets go. Oh and for the seriously twisted "Intruder". The track is like a bug that gets in your ear and you can't get it out no matter what you do. You dance, you cry, you scream, you wave your light stick, you blow your whistle, nothing works. So you keep dancing trying to get the intruder out of your brain, but it's in there and it's fucking staying where it can feed both the host and the intruder with eternal nourishment from the sonic shockwaves. "The spirit of the people is greater than man's technology". Only just Mike, only just!Detroit Disinfectant. Pure Distilled Anti-Bacterial Funk, Kills 99.9% Of Ravers. Guaranteed!

Pure dope release. Sounds like UR as the B-side The Intruder sounds like Entering Quadrant Five track from The Final Frontier.

A1 and A2 are great tracks, with outstanding production typical of the UR camp around this time. The real meat of this release, however, is the B-side "The Intruder". This is an absolute monster of a tune, with a dirty electro beat, evil stuttering bass, and what can only be described as sounds emanating from outer space. Twenty years on, the track still sounds completely fresh and unique. Get this if you come across it. It's an absolutely essential Detroit release.
