San Francisco 49ers - The Sounds of Your Future album mp3
NotesThis is a 10" record that appears to be designed for college players who had been recruited and/or drafted by the San Francisco 49ers professional football team, as opposed to fans or members of the general public. It discusses the team, coaching staff, players, and training facilities at St. Mary's college, where the 49ers held preseason training camps from 1955 to 1967. Among other things, the narrative touts the beauty and cultural attractions of the San Francisco Bay Area, discusses the advantages of a NFL career, and the opportunities for rookies to "make it" in the NFL. It also contains a welcoming message from then-San Francisco Mayor Shelley.
Based on the various references to events and players, it is possible to deduce that this record was issued prior to the 1966 season.
The record appears to have been issued without a jacket, just a paper sleeve. Given the subject matter, production presumably was very imited.
