Enchanted is the sixth studio album by the British singer/songwriter Marc Almond. It was released on 7 August 1990 and reached number 52 on the UK Albums Chart and number 81 on the Dutch albums chart. Enchanted includes the singles "A Lover Spurned" (a UK Top 30 hit featuring actress Julie T. Wallace), "The Desperate Hours" and "Waifs and Strays" (the latter of which was remixed by The Grid).

Enchanted is the sixth studio album by the British singer/songwriter Marc Almond. It was released on 7 August 1990 and reached number 52 on the UK Albums Chart. Almond is an underrated songwriter. He writes pieces that are well-crafted songs with catchy melodies and intelligent, though sometimes contrived lyrics. As evinced by the titles of the songs on this CD, his subject-matter ranges from the sea and the moon to toreadors, death, Orpheus and the outcast. There is a mix of continental blends on this disc, sometimes French, sometimes Latino, with a mix of jazz thrown in for good measure

This said, the album ends up as just too anonymous to truly succeed - Bob Kraushaar's production this time out seems much more concerned at creating slick Euro-pop as opposed to the distinct blend of styles that Marc usually pursues. There are a couple of solid winners nonetheless, like the perversely jaunty "Death's Diary" and "A Lover Spurned," a dramatic tale of vengeance from the other woman.
