Continuing on his solo way, Glamour is a bit of a letdown after such a great first effort. Once again, Davies handles all the singing, songwriting, producing, and playing (except for drums) to great effect. However, the tunes he has chosen this time out sound more like they were projected for a Kinks product that never came about. Is This the Only Way" rocks with the best of them, while "Telepathy" is more majestic in its scope. The strange thing here is the fact that none of these cuts caught on, even though the entire disc is solid
Glamour is the sixth album of the Japanese hard rock band Show-Ya. The album was released on 24 August 1988. All musical arrangements are by Makoto Matsushita and Show-Ya. The single "Aisazu Ni Irarenai - Still Be Hangin' on" is Show-Ya's version of an unused demo from the recording sessions of Journey's Raised on Radio album. The song is sung both in English and Japanese, with the lyrics translated by Keiko Terada. This album was mixed by Andy Johns in Los Angeles

David Russell Gordon Davies (born 3 February 1947) is an English singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is the lead guitarist, backing (and occasional lead) singer for the English rock band The Kinks, which also featured his older brother Sir Ray Davies. In 2003, Davies was ranked 91st in Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".
